Like everything in life, the old order is slowly being taken apart and replaced by the new. That is the same case for the automobile industry. This generation is more aware of global warming than ever and everyone is slowly transitioning to electric cars. Gasoline is slowly becoming a thing of the past, but the concept of Hypercars isn’t. A company called Rimac from Croatia is leading the way in this electric hypercar revolution with their in-house car, the Rimac Nevera or the Rimac Nevera Super-Hyper-Mega EV.
The Power of the Storm in Four Wheels
The name Nevera from the Rimac Nevera Super-Hyper-Mega EV comes from the local, electric power storms generated in the Mediterranean and ravage the Croatian coasts at 155 miles per hour. The car utilizes a four-wheel drive where each wheel has the support of an electric battery, with the main engine supporting a 120-kW, a 6960-cell battery that produces 1.4 megawatts of power. Further supporting this power is the car’s 48/52 weight distribution of the carbon fiber chassis.
All these techs allow for a staggering 1914 horsepower that produces 1731 lb torque. Not only that, the electric batteries have a 97% efficiency, as opposed to the 40% on average vehicles. This allows Nevera to go to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds, 100 mph in 4.3 seconds, and 186 mph (300 km/h) in 9.3 seconds. And an unfathomable top speed of 258 miles per hour. To put this into perspective, this car has higher acceleration than many formula one cars, and only a handful can beat its top velocity.
Who Claim The Power of the Storm?
This car has an impressive spec sheet but will set you back an eye-watering 2.4 million dollars, and only 150 units will be produced. But, this will be the first hypercar from Croatia, a country with no prior history in this automobile industry and Rimac has definitely aimed for the stars, and to see where they are going, we can believe they will land further from the moon.
