In the latest news in Elon Musk to Buy Twitter, Elon Musk seeks more time to prepare for a hearing over his controversial withdrawal from a $44 billion deal to purchase Twitter, including a filing by his lawyers in a Delaware chancery court on Friday.
Musk’s side thinks the trial should be postponed until next year despite Twitter’s request for expedited treatment and a hearing as soon as September.

Elon Musk Requests That the Court Dismiss Twitter’s Request for a Speedy Trial
Musk’s lawyers said in their brief, which was an objection to a motion filed earlier by Twitter, that the business made a “sudden request for warp speed after two months of foot-dragging and obfuscation,” and that this was Twitter’s “latest strategy to obscure the facts concerning spam accounts.”
According to Musk’s side, hastening the hearing would be an unfair strategy and a method to conceal the scope of the platform’s issues with fraudulent accounts. Twitter sued Musk earlier this week, saying that the Tesla CEO was attempting to back out of the arrangement in bad faith.
Musk’s counsel stated that “trying a complicated failed agreement case within even five to six months would be an ‘extraordinary achievement,'” and that “having a trial in February 2023 would balance the interests of the parties and the Court.”
Twitter requested a hearing within 60 days.
Twitter did not respond to a request for comment. Musk did not reply to a comment request.
