Everton had a wild season, to say the least, the owner Morshiri gambled for the future of his beloved Everton football club which didn’t pan out, actually, it backfired exceptionally. Not only was it the most controversial manager pick in Everton’s history, but his performance as manager also did little to overturn that assumption, Fans despised Benitez because of his poor run with the team.

The last straw was the embarrassing loss Everton faced against Norwich City who themselves were struggling. Martinez was at the top of the Wishlist for managers after the sacking of Rafael Benitez last Sunday, this deal is very important to change the perception of the current Everton, in hopes that other clubs take them more seriously. Other rumors suggest former English football captain Rooney.
The Toffees have been eyeing Martinez for a while now even though he got sacked during 2016. After that, Martinez joined and managed the international team for Belgium where he found success. He helped the team reach the top-three position in 2018 and gained the position of technical director of the national team.
His skill has allowed the Belgium team to be at the forefront of the 2022 world cup and the team most predicted to win.
Although the idea of Martinez managing both Everton and Belgium was being talked about in the grapevine, the Belgian FA squashed every rumor related to this as the World Cup is being held between November and December in Qatar this year.

What does Martinez think about Everton?

Despite being sacked by Moshiri in August 2016, Martinez was still considered a supportive role amongst the members of the board. And Moshiri himself adores the Everton team and states that he has unfinished business.
